Reader Spotlight: Natalie

Happy Thursday everyone! This week Natalie from Think it. Dream it., was kind enough to be a part of this post.  Photos are a big element of fashions blogs and Natalie has unique and candid photos; which I really enjoy. From shopping hauls, product reviews to OOTD posts, her blog has it all. I consider her style classic with a little edge. She’s somewhat of a minimalist but her ‘fits are always interesting and cleverly put together.

Q: How did you become a fashion blogger?
A: I started a blog a couple of years due to a work project. But I didn’t really get into blogging officially until a little over a year ago. I realised it was a great way to share my thoughts, interests and fashion taste with others. I started off writing about internet phenomenons, favourite YouTube videos and then started writing more about fashion. This year I became more interested in photography and combining my outfits with self photography which is a great way to learn. Moving to Hong Kong and becoming a freelancer definitely gave me time and inspiration to work on my blog.

Q: What is one article of clothing you can’t live without?
A: That’s a tough one. I would have to say a long cardigan/hoody. Even though I live in a place where it’s pretty hot most of the time, there are times when I travel on the train or step inside an air-conditioned place where this item I just can’t do without.

Q: When/ how did you become interested in fashion?
A: I think when I started working as a freelance model I gained an interest in fashion. I also started working for a fashion community website called MyFashionStage.com which has given me great opportunities to interview local HK designers and learn more about the fashion world. I feel fashion is just another form of art that you can wear, and I think of myself as a creative person so this is another way to express my creativity.

Q: What’s your favorite season to dress for?
A: I love cooler seasons. Autumn/Winter looks are always fun because you add a lot of different layers. Living in a place where it’s pretty hot most of the year round, being able to layer is something I miss.

Q: If money were no object what would be one article of clothing or accessory you would buy?
A: I was torn between choosing a Pierre Balmain military jacket and a Saint Laurent leather biker jacket. I’d have to go with a leather biker jacket on this one as it’s pretty versatile. This jacket would set you back £3,099, maybe one day in my dreams?:

Q: Heels or flats?
A: Heels but the chunky kind with platforms.

Q: Who’s your favorite designer?
A: That’s a another tough question but I’ll go with the very colourful Manish Aroro. I got to see his collection a couple years ago in Bangkok and was just amazed by the designs. There’s so much detail in each outfit.

Q: A trend you want to see go away?
A: I was talking with friend about this recently. Shorts that show the butt cheeks! That has to really go. If you’re not at the beach you shouldn’t be wearing it, but even then it’s crossing a line haha.

Q: What’s on your Fall style must have list?
A: A new jacket, either biker or military would be cool and a new scarf or hat would be great.

Make sure check out Natalie’s blog. You will not regret it.
